Lugana is characterized by a smooth and pleasant surface structure. The combination of cotton and modal make the counting materials a special highlight. These are woven absolutely straight as a thread in a plain weave - that is, the warp and weft always have the same number of threads. and thus result in an absolutely even, square woven count fabric. Zweigart's counting fabrics have a firmer finish, which makes embroidering without a frame much easier.
